Editorial Standards

How Much Are They Worth? publishes research-led estimates of public figures’ wealth. This page explains how we produce and review that content.

How estimates are built

Every profile is built from publicly available reporting: business and financial press (such as Forbes, Bloomberg and Reuters), court and regulatory filings, verified interviews, and other publicly documented sources. Where a figure’s wealth is not fully disclosed, which is the case for almost everyone we cover, we build a reasoned estimate from the components that are documented (contracts, endorsement deals, business stakes, real estate, and similar) and say plainly what could not be confirmed.

What our figures are, and are not

Net worth figures on this site are editorial estimates, not audited financial statements. Private holdings, liabilities, taxes and undisclosed assets can all move the real number in ways we cannot see from public sources. We publish ranges rather than false precision, and every profile includes a section explaining how its estimate was calculated.

Sourcing and citation

Where possible, profiles link directly to the public reporting behind a claim. We do not invent figures, quotes or events. If a specific detail could not be verified through public sourcing, we say so rather than filling the gap with an assumption.

Review before publication

Profiles are researched and drafted using a mix of human editorial work and AI-assisted tools, then reviewed for accuracy and sourcing before they go live. This process is ongoing, not a one-time check – see our Corrections Policy for how we handle errors found after publication.

Sensitive subjects

Some profiles cover public figures connected to serious or difficult events. In those cases we aim for a factual, measured tone rather than sensationalism, and we are deliberately cautious about which subjects we choose to cover at all.

HMW uses research and editorial tools to assist production. Every profile is independently sourced, fact-checked, edited and reviewed before publication. Estimates are editorial assessments and not audited financial statements.
