Véliz began his professional career at the age of 18, playing for his hometown club, Club Atlético River Plate. He quickly made a name for himself with his skillful play and impressive work rate on the pitch. After spending several successful seasons at River Plate, he caught the attention of European clubs and was eventually signed by Tottenham Hotspur in 2018.
