Born on July 11, 1992, in Abilene, Kansas, Whitehair began his football career at Kansas State University, where he played as an offensive tackle. He was selected by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft and quickly made an impact on the team. Whitehair started all 16 games in his rookie season and earned a spot on the NFL All-Rookie Team.
