Dowell began his football career in college, playing for the University of Tennessee from 2012 to 2016. During his time with the Volunteers, Dowell emerged as a talented tight end and caught the attention of NFL scouts with his impressive skills on the field. After going undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, Dowell signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent.
