Eric started his professional career at the age of 18, when he signed for the Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2006. He spent four seasons with the club, making a total of 79 appearances and scoring 2 goals. Eric then moved to England in 2008, joining English club Aston Villa in the Premier League.
