Hayek attended Wayne Hills High School in New Jersey, where he excelled in both football and track and field. He went on to play college football at the University of Villanova, where he continued to showcase his talent as a wide receiver. During his time at Villanova, Hayek proved to be a versatile player with great speed, hands, and route-running ability, which ultimately caught the attention of NFL scouts.
