Mayfield began his football career at Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School, where he quickly gained recognition for his strong blocking skills and athleticism. After an impressive high school career, he committed to play college football at the University of Michigan. During his time at Michigan, Mayfield continued to showcase his talent and skills on the field, earning various accolades and honors.
