DeBerry began his football career playing for William Penn High School in New Castle before moving on to play college football at Boston College. During his time at Boston College, DeBerry showcased his skills and caught the eyes of NFL scouts, eventually leading to him being signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2021.
