After high school, Briggs went on to play college football at the University of Virginia. He made an immediate impact on the team and quickly became a key player on the defensive line. In his two seasons at Virginia, Briggs recorded over 50 tackles, including 8.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. His impressive performances earned him a spot on the All-ACC Freshman team in 2019.
