Simmons had a standout collegiate career, playing for the Tennessee State Tigers before being drafted by the Chicago Bears in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent the majority of his rookie season with the Bears, appearing in four games before being waived in November 2020. The Titans claimed him off waivers, and he has since been a part of their roster.
