After graduating from high school, Ehlinger went on to play college football at the University of Texas at Austin. He quickly became a fan favorite at Texas, earning the starting quarterback position in his freshman year. Throughout his college career, Ehlinger impressed with his leadership on the field and his ability to make clutch plays in critical moments.
