Mara began his professional career with the Guinean club Horoya AC, where he quickly impressed with his pace, skill, and goal-scoring ability. His performances caught the attention of scouts from European clubs, and in 2016, he made the move to the Belgian side KRC Genk. During his time at Genk, Mara continued to develop as a player and showcased his talent on the European stage.
