Whitfield began his career at the prestigious Southampton Academy before moving on to join the youth setup at AFC Bournemouth. He made his senior debut for Bournemouth in 2016 and went on to have loan spells with clubs like Yeovil Town, Port Vale, and Torquay United. In 2019, Whitfield signed with Barrow AFC and has become a key player for the team since then.
