Telford began his career in the youth system of Wolverhampton Wanderers before moving to Stoke City in 2014. He made his professional debut for Stoke City in the Football League Trophy in 2015 before going out on loan to various clubs including Bristol Rovers, Plymouth Argyle, and Scunthorpe United.
