Gueye’s professional career took off in France with Lille OSC, where his performances in Ligue 1 showcased his potential as a top defensive midfielder. His ability to break up opposition play and protect the defense earned him a move to Aston Villa and subsequently to Everton F.C. in 2016. At Everton, Gueye’s performances were consistently impressive, making him a fan favorite for his relentless work rate and defensive contributions.
