In 2011, Derbyshire moved to Nottingham Forest on a permanent deal, where he made 85 appearances and scored 25 goals. He then had stints at Rotherham United, Birmingham City, and Omonia in Cyprus, before joining Macabbi Tel Aviv in Israel in 2015.
