In the 2020-2021 season, Watters made a breakthrough when he signed for Crawley Town in League Two. He made an immediate impact, scoring 16 goals in 19 appearances for the club. His impressive goal-scoring form caught the attention of Championship club Barnsley FC, who signed him in January 2021.
