Before joining Bristol City, Roberts spent the early years of his career at Brighton & Hove Albion. He came up through the youth system at the club and made his senior debut for the first team in 2019. During his time at Brighton, Roberts also had loan spells at Rochdale and Doncaster Rovers, where he gained valuable experience and game time.
