After a successful spell at Accrington Stanley, Naismith moved to Portsmouth in 2015. He became an integral part of the Portsmouth team and helped the club achieve promotion to League One in the 2016-2017 season. Naismith’s performances attracted interest from other clubs, and in 2020, he signed for Wigan Athletic.
