McCrorie began his youth career at Rangers FC in Scotland before making his senior debut for the club in 2016. He quickly caught the attention of scouts with his impressive performances, versatility, and strong defensive abilities. McCrorie went on to make over 50 appearances for Rangers before making a move to Portsmouth in League One on loan in 2019.
