Jordan was born on February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in Wilmington, North Carolina, Jordan showcased his athletic talent early on, excelling in basketball, baseball, and football. He played college basketball under coach Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he led the Tar Heels to a national championship in 1982 with a game-winning jump shot.
