Although he did not see much playing time with the Jets, Shepley continued to work hard and hone his craft. In 2020, he signed a reserve/future contract with the San Francisco 49ers but was later waived before the start of the season. In April 2021, Shepley signed with the Dallas Cowboys, where he has been working diligently to prove himself as a valuable asset to the team.
