Onwenu was born on December 1, 1998, in Detroit, Michigan, making him 23 years old. He is of Nigerian descent and takes great pride in his heritage. Onwenu attended Cass Technical High School in Detroit, where he excelled as a football player. He went on to play college football at the University of Michigan, where he played as a guard and tackle for the Wolverines.
