Connolly began his youth career at the Everton FC Academy, where he rose through the ranks and eventually made his first-team debut in the 2015-2016 season. During his time at Everton, Connolly also had loan spells at Wigan Athletic, Ipswich Town, and Bolton Wanderers, gaining valuable experience and exposure to different playing styles and environments.
