Rus began his professional soccer career playing for the youth academy of Ajax, one of the most successful clubs in Dutch football history. He spent several years honing his skills within the famed academy system before making his debut for Ajax’s first team in 2012. Rus went on to make over 50 appearances for the club before transferring to Coventry City in 2016.
