Wharton signed his first professional contract with Blackburn Rovers in 2015 and has since made several appearances for the first team. In addition to his time at Blackburn, Scott has also had loan spells at several clubs to gain more playing experience. He spent time at Cambridge United, Lincoln City, Northampton Town, and Port Vale, where he gained valuable match experience and developed his skills as a defender.
