1. Ratko Mladić, a Bosnian Serb general, rose to infamy for his role in the Bosnian War of the 1990s, particularly for his involvement in the Srebrenica massacre and the siege of Sarajevo. Mladić was convicted of committing genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in 2017.
