Kamala Harris was born on October 20, 1964, in Oakland, California, USA. She attended Howard University, where she earned a degree in political science and economics, and later graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career in the public sector, working as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County, California. She later became the District Attorney of San Francisco and then the Attorney General of California before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2016. In 2020, she was elected Vice President of the United States, making history as the first female, first Black, and first South Asian Vice President.
