Olaf Scholz was born on June 14, 1958, in Osnabrück, West Germany. He is a German national and has been actively involved in politics for several decades. Scholz studied law at the University of Hamburg and became a lawyer specializing in labor law. His political career began in the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), where he rose through the ranks to hold various significant positions. Scholz served as the Deputy Chair of the SPD from 2009 to 2011 and later as the Mayor of Hamburg from 2011 to 2018. His political journey eventually led him to become the Federal Minister of Finance and Vice Chancellor under Angela Merkel’s government before assuming the role of Chancellor in December 2021.
