Johnston began his football career playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes at college level. He was a standout punter and was named the Big Ten Punter of the Year in 2016. After a successful college career, Johnston entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2017, signing with the Philadelphia Eagles.
