ton began his football career at Greater Atlanta Christian School, where he played as a defensive tackle. He was highly recruited out of high school and committed to playing college football at the University of Michigan. At Michigan, Hinton established himself as a dominant force on the defensive line, earning All-Big Ten Conference honors and catching the attention of NFL scouts.
