Holcomb was born on July 30, 1996, in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He attended New Smyrna Beach High School where he played football before going on to have a successful college career at the University of North Carolina. Holcomb was a standout linebacker for the Tar Heels and was known for his ability to make tackles all over the field.
