Newsome’s journey to the NFL began in his college years when he played for the Northwestern Wildcats football team at Northwestern University. During his time at Northwestern, Newsome showcased his talent as a cornerback, intercepting passes, and shutting down opposing receivers with his lockdown coverage abilities. His stellar performance in college caught the attention of NFL scouts, and he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
