He began his football career at the University of Miami, where he played for the Miami Hurricanes football team from 2013 to 2017. During his time at Miami, Edwards showcased his exceptional skills as a running back, rushing for over 1,000 yards and scoring multiple touchdowns. His outstanding performance caught the attention of NFL scouts, and he was eventually signed as an undrafted free agent by the Baltimore Ravens in 2018.
