Rucci began his football career playing for Warwick High School in Lititz, Pennsylvania. He then went on to attend the University of Wisconsin, where he played college football for the Wisconsin Badgers. During his time at Wisconsin, Rucci emerged as a standout tight end, showcasing his skills in both blocking and receiving. His performances on the field garnered the attention of NFL scouts, leading to him being drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 2022 NFL Draft.
