Alt’s football journey began at Totino-Grace High School in Fridley, Minnesota, where he excelled as a two-way player on the offensive and defensive lines. He was rated as a four-star recruit and decided to continue his football career at the University of Iowa. Alt redshirted his first year before eventually becoming a starter for the Hawkeyes. During his time at Iowa, he showcased his versatility by playing multiple positions on the offensive line and impressed scouts with his strength and athleticism.
