Harris attended Carrollton High School, where he played football as a long snapper and tight end. He continued his football career at Auburn University, where he played for the Auburn Tigers football team as a long snapper. Harris went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft but signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent that same year.
