Ross began his football career in college, playing for the Michigan Wolverines at the University of Michigan. During his time there, he proved himself to be a formidable force on the field, showcasing his skills in tackling and pass coverage. His talent did not go unnoticed, and in 2020, Ross was signed by the Ravens as an undrafted free agent.
