After a successful high school career playing for American Heritage School, Wilson went on to play college football at the University of Florida. During his time at Florida, he established himself as a standout player in the SEC conference, showcasing his impressive athleticism, coverage skills, and playmaking abilities. Wilson played in 44 games for the Gators, totaling 99 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 3 sacks during his collegiate career.
