Onuachu was born on May 28, 1994, in Owerri, Nigeria. He began his youth career at FC Ebedei in Nigeria before moving to Denmark to join FC Midtjylland’s academy in 2012. He made his professional debut for FC Midtjylland in 2012 and went on to score 74 goals in 181 appearances for the club.
