Jefferson began his football career at the University of Maryland, where he played for the Terrapins from 2010 to 2015. In his senior year, he recorded 39 tackles and six sacks, showcasing his talent on the field. Despite going undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft, Jefferson signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent.
