He played for the Michigan State Spartans from 2018 to 2020, where he showcased his strong arm, leadership skills, and ability to make big plays under pressure. In his sophomore year, Lombardi earned the starting quarterback position and led the Spartans to a victory over the Purdue Boilermakers in his first career start.
