Gardner played college football at the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a reputation as a shutdown cornerback with exceptional speed, agility, and coverage skills. In his three seasons with the Bearcats, Gardner recorded 83 total tackles, 3 interceptions, and 20 pass breakups. His impressive performance on the field earned him numerous accolades, including being named the AAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2021.
