Mason was born on August 28, 1993, in Columbia, Tennessee, making him 28 years old as of 2021. He attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he played college football for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. During his time at Georgia Tech, Mason became known for his impressive blocking abilities and was named to the All-ACC first team in his senior year.
