Rankins was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, where he spent the first five years of his professional career. During his time with the Saints, Rankins established himself as a key player on the defensive line, recording 17.5 sacks, 34 tackles for loss, and 46 quarterback hits. Â
