Born on January 12, 2000, Botman began his professional career at AFC Ajax, one of the most successful clubs in the Netherlands. He made his senior debut for the club in 2018 and quickly established himself as a key player in the team’s defense. Botman’s performances caught the eye of scouts from top European clubs, and he eventually signed for Lille OSC in the summer of 2020.
