Huntley began his football career at Hallandale High School in Florida, where he quickly gained attention for his skills on the field. He went on to play college football at the University of Utah, where he had a successful career as a dual-threat quarterback. In his senior year, Huntley threw for 3,092 yards and 19 touchdowns, while also rushing for 290 yards and 5 touchdowns.
