After three seasons with the Bills, Taylor was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2018. He served as a mentor to rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield before signing with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2019. Taylor started the 2020 season as the Chargers’ starting quarterback before suffering a punctured lung during a game, which led to rookie Justin Herbert taking over the starting role.
