McLaren raced for several teams during his career, including Cooper, which he won his first Formula 1 race with in 1959. He went on to join the McLaren team, which he founded in 1963. McLaren continued to race for his own team until his tragic death in 1970, at the age of just 32, in a testing crash at the Goodwood Circuit in England.
