Cook started his career playing for various non-league clubs such as Marine, Prescot Cables, Barrow, and Grimsby Town. He made a name for himself with his goal-scoring prowess and physical style of play. In 2018, Cook signed for League One club Walsall where he continued to impress, scoring 17 goals in 45 appearances.
